TUBBY THE TUBA - THE MUSICAL!

Ah, Tubby the Tuba, a wondrous animation that tells a story of determination, fame, heartbreak, and success, and the journey of a small and insignificant tuba as he searches for his place in the orchestra. Where would we be without the morals this film has taught us? The lessons? The memories?

Probably a lot saner.

Not only is Tubby the Tuba about all of the above, it's also a hodge-podge of miscellaneous musicals and other films, including Annie, Cinderella, Oliver!, and Dumbo, amongst others, and, like many animations of its period, seems to have been drawn whilst its artists were under the influence of whatever was popular back then. Obviously, talking musical instruments are a far more logical concept when you're young and impressionable. Or stoned. And, when watched whilst semi-inebriated and at least slightly hyperactive, Tubby has also turned out to be a love story of the highest calibre.

And, obviously, no love story is complete without someone turning it into a West End musical. Tubby already has the songs at its disposal, and here, for the first time, is the primary cast list for what is likely to be the next big London hit!

No, not Michael Crawford. Just Frank Spencer. :P

And:

Also starring Richard Attenborough in a special cameo role as the Conductor, for a limited period only! Don't miss out on your chance to see this amazing, spectacular new musical! Revel in the lights, the songs, the dizzying heights of the circus acts, the colours, and, most of all, the heart-rending performances from Mr Michael Ball and Mr Frank Spencer in this tale of love, rejection, devotion and acceptance!

Enjoy the thrills...

...the tragedy...

...the emotion...

...the friendship...

...the betrayal...

...and the moment our heroes are finally reunited...

All this and more in Tubby the Tuba - the Musical! Follow Tubby as he turns his back on Peewee's advice and seeks a life in the circus. Watch as he is humiliated by Mr Pepperino, before finding international fame. Gasp when he rejects Peewee, only to jeopardise his circus career only moments later. Stare agog as Tubby falls for Celeste, and applaud when he gives her up to Prince Cello. Sneer at Miss Squeek's terrible regime over the orphan tunes. Dance when the kindly Frog provides Tubby with a tune of his own, and cheer - cheer loudly! - as Tubby and Peewee are finally reunited in the orchestra once more.

Yes, this is a once-in-a-lifetime experience, not to be missed! Playing for a limited run of seven performances over three days, Tubby the Tuba is the show of a lifetime!
